Doug has spent over half his life on this planet as a Human Resource professional working with individuals, teams and organizations striving to reach their full potential, always focused in some way on building new knowledge and skills. As a HR business leader with over 30 years in the profession, Doug benefited from a diverse array of challenging HR positions across five industries; from being a one-person HR department in a family owned blue-collar manufacturing firm to leading Aetna’s clinical training department managing forty-six licensed clinical trainers who trained 5,000 clinicians. Concurrent with his career, Doug has taught and built HR related courses at three Universities over the past decade, including a SHRM Certification Prep course. In 2021 he set our on a bold new chapter, launching his own HR consulting firm (Transform Performance Partners) to help transform human potential into performance via coaching, training, and HR strategy solutions. Clients include The Hartford, Insurity software, CVS/Aetna, and ConnCORP, an urban development whose mission is to drive economic development and economic justice in impoverished communities.
As a lifelong learner, Doug consistently invests time and energy to master the HR craft. He loves being a “scholarly practitioner” who weaves together academics, professional development, and corporate leadership experiences in a way that brings theory to life in practical, real-world ways for learners. He attained my MBA, Corporate Innovation in 2019, solidified my Human Resource expertise via various industry recognized certifications including SHRM-SCP and SPHR, and completed an intense nine-month Advanced HR and Organizational Development Program at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Doug's professional mission is to help develop the next generation of HR leaders and practices because he firmly believes that the world needs better HR. He views his role as one to help you reach your fullest level of success, in the way that you define it, and help enhance your HR practice with new skills and capabilities. He is proud to be associated with SHRM and honored to have the opportunity to partner with you in your growth.
